The Dharma Center is closed on the above dates during Piccolo Spoleto. Classes resume Monday, June 10th.
PICCOLO SPOLETO SAND MANDALA CONSTRUCTION BEGINS MAY 27TH
Venerable Yeshe Topgyal from Gyuto Tantric Monastery in Dharamsala, India will begin work on the Mandala of Vajrabhairava, which is the wrathful Manjushri Emanation of Infinite Wisdom. The sand mandala will be constructed at the Old Charleston Jail, 21 Magazine Street (29401), in downtown Charleston. Opening ceremony is Monday, May 27th at 10:00 am. Working hours for the Venerable Topgyal are 9am - noon & 2pm - 5pm Monday through Friday. Closing ceremony for the Sand Mandala is Saturday, June 1st at 10:00 am. There will be at least one day of viewing the completed Mandala.
SAGADAWA
Please join us Saturday, May 25th, 5:00 pm at the Dharma Center to celebrate SagaDawa for 2013. This holy day commemorates the Birth, Enlightenment, and Parinirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha. The ceremony will begin at 5:00 and last approximately 45 minutes. After the ceremony we invite you to stay for food, beverages, and fellowship with the Sangha.
